Singer Ashanti has landed a new gig in Hollywood on Lifetime’s hit drama “Army Wives.”

Ashanti is making big moves in Hollywood having landed a series regular role on Lifetime’s “Army Wives.” Ashanti, who’s been taking on acting roles since her 2002 appearance on “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch,” will play Latasha Durant on the Lifetime series. Her character is described as “an optimistic mother of three, a sexy, fun woman who knows how to keep a husband – and how to keep him in line”

Ashanti isn’t the only new addition to “Army Wives” as the series has also hired Torrey DeVitto and Elle McLemore as regulars. The show starts filming Season 7 in mid-December in Charleston, South Carolina.

Lemon Poppyseed Muffin

  • The Source: Cooking Light November 2005
  • The Menu:Sour Cream Muffins with Poppyseed Streusel*only adaptation was a lemon instead of an orange for the zest.
  • The Background: I wanted to bake something tasty to bring in to my co-workers. I was debating between a few coffee cake recipes but then I saw this one in my binder and thought it sounded delicious. It was also from Cooking Light so at least it would keep to my “trying to eat healthy” pledge. This pledge is constantly being broken by copious amounts of foie gras, pork belly and beer. I was also very intrigued by the idea of a poppyseed streusel instead of just having the seeds in the muffin.
