Richard Street, a former member of The Temptations and Motown singer, died early Wednesday morning (Feb. 27) in a Las Vegas hospitcal of a pulmonary embolism, reports CBS Detroit. He was 70.

Street served in The Temptations during the group's prolific second heyday in the 1970s and '80s, staying active with the vocal group through the mid-1990s. Street was the first member of the Temptations to actually be a native of Detroit; all of the previous members were born and at least partially raised in the southern United States.
