After huge protests against President Mohammed Morsi this week, the Islamist-dominated assembly drafting the post-revolution constitution said it would hold a vote on the outcome on the same day.
That would set the stage for a referendum on the document and, if it is adopted, the curtailing of presidential powers under a new basic law.
Officials hope that a timetable for the expiry of Mr Morsi’s current authoritarian powers, assumed last Thursday, will put a swift end to this week’s demonstrations.
The draft constitution is likely to be similar to one published last month.
But the announcement still angered Brotherhood opponents, as they say the committee will ride roughshod over secular and minority opinion and shift Egypt closer towards being an Islamist state.

Tired of your phone’s tiny on-screen keyboard, but don’t want to carry around an accessory to type on? This experimental app by a Swiss student lets you type using nothing but the surface of a table.
The app doesn’t use motion-tracking or a laser like other tabletop keyboard devices; Instead, it uses the iPhone’s accelerometer to “listen” to the vibrations produced by taps on the table, and turns those into letters. And no, you don’t have to tap in Morse code.
You “train” the app by using a sheet of paper with a QWERTY keyboard layout printed on it. Tap a few times on the G when it asks you to, and it knows what G sounds like. Do the same for S, and now it knows S.
You can do all 26 letters that way or just a few and let it fill in the gaps. But even after all that work, the accuracy isn’t too good: the app gets around 80 percent of taps correct.
Until next blog, I want the iPhone5

Getting fit feels great, but you’ll probably have some aches along the way. Don’t let the wear and tear derail your quest for a fitter body. Find out what’s causing you to hurt, how to treat minor injuries, which medications work best for pain relief and how to keep healthy in the future…
Working out is one of the healthiest moves for your body.
But it’s also one of the easiest ways to hurt yourself.
While minor aches are unavoidable with exercise, more serious pain can mean injury or that you’re pushing too hard.
“Playing while hurt is the reason so many former professional athletes have chronic musculoskeletal problems,” says Lynn Millar, Ph.D., P.T., professor of physical therapy at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Mich.
How can you distinguish normal soreness from a more serious problem, and what should you do if you’re injured?
Good Pain: Minor Muscle Soreness
Hours after a tough workout, you may feel sore and stiff in the muscles you exercised.
That’s known as delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS), and it’s caused by taxing muscles you haven’t used much before or pushing conditioned muscles too far.
When they’re pushed beyond conditioning, some muscle fibers tear, explains Scott Hasson, Ed.D., University of Connecticut professor of physical therapy.
The body responds to the injury with inflammation, which causes dull, aching soreness 12-72 hours later.
Until next blog, stay fit, feel well.
BROOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — A 55-year-old ex-church employee in central Michigan is accused of beating and strangling a neighbor to fulfill a sexual fantasy.
John D. White was arraigned Thursday in Mount Pleasant on first-degree murder charges and jailed without bond.
White told investigators he repeatedly struck Rebekah Gay’s head with a mallet then strangled her with a zip tie at her Mount Pleasant trailer. He said he stripped her but does not remember if he carried out his fantasy of having sex with Gay’s dead body.
Gay’s 3-year-old son was home during the attack. A county sheriff says “hopefully he was sleeping.”
White told the judge he was a church employee until Wednesday. Church elder Donna Houghton told WOOD-TV that White was a pastor at the Christ Community Fellowship in Mount Pleasant.
